The Big/Little program is a year-long mentor/mentee program that is here to support your academic and professional journey throughout your undergraduate career. This program is specifically designed to help students throughout their academic journey and strengthen your social connections within the NanoEngineering community through events, mentorship, and activities.
Expectations and Responsibilities
The program's duration lasts for the current academic year (2023-2024)
Participants are expected to attend ONE event per academic quarter
Quarterly check-ins will be conducted to see how you are doing
Communication is VERY important to stay in touch with your Big/Little and Big/Little events

Have fun! This program is intended to build social connections and bonds within the NanoEngineering community.
Role of a "Big": A “Big” is a mentor. Bigs will be paired with littles to provide support and guidance throughout the academic year! Each Big will be assigned at least oneLittle. If they are comfortable doing so, Bigs may be asked to support multiple littles (Maximum: 3 Littles)
Big Expectations:
Provideguidance and support for their Littles
Be enthusiastic about engaging with the NanoEngineering community
Be responsive and communicative!
Role of a "Little": A “Little” is a mentee. Littles will be paired with a Big to ease their transition into college and find their place in the NanoEngineering community! Littles will have the opportunity to attend a Meet and Greet with all Bigs and rank their top choices before being officially assigned a Big.
Note: Space in the program may be limited by the number of bigs, you are not guaranteed to be paired with the big you choose. Little Expectations:
Be communicative with your Big and be engaged!
Be respectful of others
Participate in the Big/Little events to get to know others within the community
